Trek Emonda SLR 6 Disc Road Bike really is a ‘have your cake and eat it’ kind of bike, combining low weight, aerodynamics and quality components. The Ultralight 800 Series OCLV Carbon frame weighs less than 700 grams (claimed), yet has also been designed to reduce drag at speed too, so it excels on the flat as well as uphill. Lightweight Bontrager Aeolus Pro 37 OCLV carbon wheels complement the efficient frame by also providing climbing ability and aerodynamics, with the 37mm depth rims shallow enough for use on windy days too.

Often considered the sweet spot of Shimano’s range of groupsets, 11-speed mechanical Ultegra has all the performance and functional advantages of the range-topping Dura-Ace with just a slight weight penalty due to the materials used. Equally performance-orientated are the Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes, which offer plenty of power and modulation in all weather conditions to increase confidence downhill and in the corners. Carbon seatpost and an integrated carbon handlebar and stem complete the spec list and add to the bike’s comfort and low weight.
